The Jews poured over, labored over, heavily scrutinized the
Scriptures. Their objective in digging deeply into the written Word of God was noble; they were rightly persuaded that
Scripture unerringly pointed the way to eternal life. Yet, despite wisely and conscientiously searching for that pearl of incalculable value (Matthew 13:44–46), the Jews refused to believe that the
Scriptures, the testimony of John the Baptist (John 5:33), the supernatural works of Jesus (John 5:36), and the testimony of the Father (John 5:37) all irrefutably pointed to Jesus as the way, the truth, and the life (John 5:39–40). Meaning that if men earnestly desire to come to the Father, they must first come to His Son, Jesus Christ (John 14:6).
Amazingly, the Jews refused to believe the fourfold witness that straightforwardly would have led them to the eternal life they so diligently sought to possess (John 5:40). Therefore, the purpose of the articles and other contents on this page is to point readers to Jesus, so that by repenting and believing in Him they may unfailingly inherit eternal life (Romans 9:10–13).
